The word psychotherapy comes from the combination of the ancient Greek words psyche which originally meant “soul” and the action word therapeuin which meant to “tend or render service.” From a depth psychological perspective, the soul is what requires care and tending in times of conflict, heartbreak, trauma, or any other form of physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual suffering.
Together, we will create a flexible, individually-tailored plan to honor your immediate needs and reach your short or long-term counseling goals. Therapy is an alchemical process, utilizing art and science. My favorite “ingredients” include:
- Person-centered, strength-based, solution-focused therapy
- Emotionally-Focused interpersonal neurobiology
- Somatic integration
- New generation cognitive behavioral and schema therapy
- Depth Psychotherapy, including psychodynamic, analytical, archetypal, and imaginal approaches. Many clients are familiar with the work of C.G. Jung and others with a mythopoetic perspective. My emphasis in depth psychology will support individuals and couples in understanding and exploring the individuation process.
- Internal Family Systems
- Family Systems
- Narrative therapy
It is a joy and a privilege for me to offer and engage in empathetic, ethical, and effective therapy—for you, or your child, or your relationship.
